San Antonio Restaurant Worker Vaccine Drive and Job Fair

San Antonio Chapter of Texas Restaurant Association Prepares to Vaccinate Hospitality Workers and Offer Industry Job Fair

SAN ANTONIO, TX (April 21, 2021) - The Texas Restaurant Association (TRA), San Antonio chapter, and other groups have teamed up for a multi-city initiative to vaccinate tens of thousands of hospitality workers across the state.

The vaccine drive kicked off in Houston earlier this week, and will continue in San Antonio on April 27 and 28 at the Wonderland of the Americas shopping center. University Health will administer 6,000 doses (3,000 per day) of the Pfizer vaccine. The clinic will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:45 p.m.

“This pandemic has had a huge impact on the Texas and U.S. workforce," said Dawn Ann Larios, Executive Director of the San Antonio Chapter and West Region of the TRA. "We are an Association that is here to help our members and their employees each and every day. This vaccine drive is about caring for our employees in the hospitality industry and continuing to restore consumer confidence and the job fair is about providing good jobs to those who are looking for employment. We have to get back to a sense of normalcy. Health and jobs, that’s what we are all here to provide.”

“We are tremendously pleased to be partnering with the Texas Restaurant Association to make it as easy as possible for these critically important front-line workers to get protection from the virus,” said University Health executive vice president for marketing communications and corporate affairs Leni Kirkman. “We applaud the association for this statewide initiative that will not only ‘put shots’ in a lot of arms, but also make restaurants safer for employees and patrons. Partnerships like this are critically important to University Health’s ongoing efforts to do everything we can to put an end to this pandemic.”

In addition to the vaccine drive, there will also be an industry job fair hosted on site. Numerous restaurant companies are registered to offer information about their available jobs and benefits, including:
